Let’s Try SI, Not AI

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better (Ephesians 1:17, NIV).

All of us have heard of AI or Artificial Intelligence. I prefer SI or Spirit Intelligence.

I think AI is an inherent oxymoron as artificial implies non-intelligence. And SI, if you believe the Bible, indicates a relationship with the Author and Creator of the universe.

I would rather have SI inspire the next Interruption than AI!

The danger of AI is the presuppositions of those doing the basic programming. Do we trust the scientific community? Let’s consider the debacle of COVID-19 or the claim that belief in God is unscientific. The starting point of many scientists mixes defeating skepticism, false assumptions, licentious actions, and insufficient ethics.

And this concoction of false thinking underlies the creation of AI.

I know AI will eventually surpass the reasoning ability of scientists. But considering how foolish scientists can be — is that really a great accomplishment? And can a creation surpass the moral character of its creator?

With SI, we know the ultimate motive of our Creator — that God is love (1 John 4:8).

The Spirit of God leads us daily. We know His desire for us is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Again, let’s pursue SI.

Who knows what AI will cause in the future for humankind? If you read editorials of thought leaders, it doesn’t take long for them to discuss the possibility of AI taking control of everything — to our detriment.

With diabolical and totalitarian AI, Elon Musk’s idea of implanting chips in the brain is scary. Amazingly, the Bible gives this warning 2,000 years ago . . .

He required everyone — small and great, rich and poor, free and slave — to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name (Revelation 13:16-17, NLT).

AI implanted or SI as God living within are similar concepts, but one is an evil counterfeit of the other. AI will control, but SI seeks loving submission to God’s will.

An editorialist in the Wall Street Journal has pointed out several times that Eve eating the forbidden fruit, an event that polluted our rational thought and spiritual lives, seems eerily foreshadowing . . .

of the most influential tech company in the world having the logo of an apple with a bite out of it.

Human and artificial intelligence combined can’t figure out peace and eternity, but both will keep trying while traveling far afield from the ANSWER in the Bible.

SI or AI? I’m not going to bite the apple. How about you?

I’m using my SI to proclaim Jesus as the answer.
