Noah’s Ark Found!

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

In the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4, ESV).

They’ve found Noah’s Ark.

Okay, Pastor Grant, it’s April 1, aka April Fools’ Day. Are you trying to catch us in an April Fools’ joke? Very good thinking; however, archeologists are now excavating a site on Mount Ararat, two miles from the Turkey-Iran border, that looks exactly like an ark to me, at least from photos I’ve seen.

Maybe I’m the April Fool. But watch this video (click on the photo) and come to your own conclusion, though if you don’t reach the same conclusion as me, perhaps you are the April Fool.

Reasons that I believe that I’m not a fool. . .

  1. Passes location test

I find it significant that thousands of years after Noah’s ark came to rest, the area is still known as Ararat, with Mount Ararat the tallest peak in the area at 5,100 meters, making it the perfect landing/settling place for an ark after the flood.

  1. Passes Pastor Grant’s Eyeball Test

Look carefully at the attached photo and see finger-like appendages extending upward. I believe they look like the ribs of a boat.

  1. Passed sea life test

Even though the ark sits on a mountain, here’s a quote from a recent edition of The Jerusalem Post. . .

Analysis of rock and soil samples retrieved from the site, presented last month, suggests the presence of “clay materials, marine substances, and seafood” dating back to 5500-3000 BC, coinciding with the biblical flood account.

HHHHMMMHHM. . . a mountain underwater!

  1. Passed size test

This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits (Genesis 6:15).

The formation on Mount Arafat is shaped like a boat and is 525 ft. (or 300 cubits) long.

  1. Passed object test

There have been objects that look like boat parts and fossilized wooden planks found. The parts, still debated as authentic, certainly look man-made (re-watch video).

Let’s review:

A story from the Bible dating back thousands of years. . . and we now have a boat-like structure in that exact location, with evidence of widespread sea life indicating a flood, rib-like protrusions from the earth, and objects that bear an eerie resemblance to ancient boat parts.

Agreed, all of this doesn’t absolutely prove a flood or an ark, but for those of us who believe the Genesis account. . .

April Fools’? I think not!
