Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7, ESV).

I wrote Interruption #1 on March 20, 2020, and emailed it at 7:30 a.m. For over five years, I have been writing an Interruption. This one is #1708.
With this blog, I encourage people to read the Bible and pray, present a biblical perspective of current issues, have fun, defend God’s existence with Scripture as His inspired Word, share what I’ve learned about church leadership, offer practical tips for just about every conceivable topic, and build up families.
And this email is sent free of charge.
When leading a tour to Israel in March of 2020, I walked along the shore of the Sea of Galilee one morning, and when asking God how He wanted me to focus my serving efforts for Him in my final years, He said to me, “Be a good steward of the content that I have given you.”
The Interruptions blog enables me to condense my ideas and teaching material into regularly sent posts, and at 500 words multiplied by 1708, it now equals 854,000 words. Lots of content, and with Christian books averaging 50,000 words, about 17 books!
Interruptions is sent free and will always be sent free.
But I’m asking you to help. It costs about $800 to $1,000 a month to produce Interruptions. With no organizations supporting Interruptions, it’s a testimony of God’s provision. Now, you can help.
You can subscribe through Substack® for a monthly fee. Follow this link.
Please note this money is not tax-deductible. Your subscription underwrites Interruptions and, prayerfully, other content-producing projects. If you have questions about Substack and Interruptions, please email me (grantedwardsauthor@gmail.com).
If you do nothing, you will continue to receive Interruptions — let me repeat, if you give (or not) through Substack, Interruptions will not be interrupted.
For those who do subscribe, you will receive an additional email from me on Sundays. In the Sunday email, I will summarize my recent Interruptions (sort of a Sunday, “Oh, I didn’t read that one,” type of thing). Also, in this Sunday email, I will send suggestions for books, YouTube® sermons, music videos, and other reels that I’ve found helpful.
Please note: Everyone continues to receive Interruptions six days a week for free (Monday through Saturday). But, subscribers will also receive an additional Sunday email reviewing the previous Interruptions, along with links to resources I’ve found helpful.
My verse at the beginning of this Interruption was 2 Corinthians 9:7 in the English Standard Version:
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Now read 2 Corinthians 9:7 from the Message Version …
I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your own mind what you will give. That will protect you against sob stories and arm-twisting. God loves it when the giver delights in the giving.
This email is not a sob story or emotionally manipulative attempt to solicit your money. You will continue to receive Interruptions free, but your financial support will help me continue and expand the reach of this blog.
Lastly, I enjoy writing Interruptions and am honored that you read it. It makes my day when someone takes the time to send a comment.
Blessings, join me in being a huge Interruption!
