Will Jesus Find Faith?

God will give swift justice to those who don’t give up. So be ever praying, ever expecting, in the same way as the widow. Even so, when the Son of Man comes back, will he find this kind of undying faith on earth?  Luke 18:8 TPT

The message of the Bible is faith.

Followers of Jesus are justified by faith. We live by faith and not by sight. Our culture today trends towards the glorification of doubt. Those of faith are often ridiculed – especially those who make ethical or determinative statements based upon faith.

There is a large block of theological writings and Biblical studies that glorify doubt today. Sort of like, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy-laden… and we will rejoice together in our doubt.”

Doubt isn’t the objective of faith.

Yes, life is complex. Some do encounter extreme difficulty. The solution: there is hope. In faith, what we don’t understand, or the wounds received from others, can be relieved through the reconciliation and healing of Jesus.

I would rather live my life focused on the absolute nature of the LOVE of Jesus.

Jesus asks a simple question in Luke 18:8: “Will I find faith when I return?” Evidently, there will be a protracted attack on faith in the end-times. Doubt will be the guise behind which the Prince of Lies and Obfuscation hides.

Doubt is never exalted as the objective of following Jesus.

It is okay to ask questions; we all doubt. Doubt should (by faith) be the seed upon which our faith grows. Through the darkness, we find the faithfulness of Jesus.

Read books, listen to conversations, watch social media, and note that doubt is uplifted as authentic and courageous. Often, those offended by the church lead the charge. My observation: doubt never stops its self-glorication. It replaces the faith of victory and forgiveness with a poisoned stew of the offended.

Faith is a simple antidote. Jesus is my Lord and Savior.

I don’t understand many things. As a pastor of 49 years, I have a long list of offenses perpetrated against me by other Christians. But when I see Jesus and receive forgiveness, I love those who dislike me and rest in His sovereignty.

James, chapter one, discusses a faith that calms storms and doesn’t get caught in the wave action of doubt. The message of James, of Jesus, and my life – peace is found in faith.

Will Jesus find life-giving faith when He returns?
