You are a Prophet, Priest, and King!

I am a prophet, priest, and king! You are too.

I am not the Prophet, Priest, and King! I am a prophet, priest, and king. You are too! I hope you understand what I’m saying.

Your opinion of yourself is important. All your decisions, attitudes, and the way that you treat others will depend on what you think of yourself.

If you believe that you are a pauper, you will be intimidated by a room full of millionaires. If you can’t play basketball, you don’t walk onto a court with Michael Jordan.

If you want to know what you should think of yourself, please meet Jesus!

Jesus isn’t about your “lack” or “can’t do,” He is about you being a prophet, priest, and king. As you read this Interruptions repeat often… I am a prophet, priest, and king!

The Apostle Paul writes about your attitude:

Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.  Romans 12:2 (TPT)

How you think of yourself will determine your success. You should think like a prophet, priest, and king!

Obviously, Jesus is the only Prophet, Priest, and King. The Old Testament depicts the offices of prophet, priest, and king as individual job descriptions, but the New Testament says that Jesus embodies all of them.

Jesus is a Prophet:

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things.  Hebrews 1:1-2 (NASB)

Jesus is a Priest:

Yet everyday priests still serve, ritually offering the same sacrifices again and again — sacrifices that can never take away sin’s guilt. But when this Priest had offered the one supreme sacrifice for sin for all time he sat down on a throne at the right hand of God.  Hebrews 10:11-12 (TPT)

Jesus is a King:

Regarding Jesus, the Father says… Your throne, Jesus, is eternal! You will rule through righteousness in your Kingdom as one who is victorious over evil.  Therefore, I the Father have anointed you above all other kings and leaders and Presidents with an anointing of joy that will be released through you to those who follow you.  Hebrews 1:9-10 (OGV)

What is missed by many who follow Jesus?

The anointing of Jesus flows through Him to us. If He is Prophet, Priest, and King, then as c0-heirs, we are prophets, priests, and kings.

You are a prophet:

Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.  1 Corinthians 14:1 (NASB)

You are a priest:

For now, you serve as holy priests, offering up spiritual sacrifices that he readily accepts through Jesus Christ.  1 Peter 2:5 (TPT)

You are a king:

Jesus has created us to rule alongside Him as king. We serve God the Father; to further the Father’s glory and dominion both now and forever. Amen!  Revelation 1:6 (OGV)

Jesus is Prophet, Priest, and King. Your attitude, based upon your identity in Christ is “I am a prophet, priest, and king.”

I will write a few Interruptions soon on what it means to be a prophet, priest, and king.  But now say, “Jesus is Prophet, Priest, and King and I am to serve Him as prophet, priest, and king!”

Consider yourself a prophet, priest, and king when you work or interact with others. Ask this question: “What would a prophet, priest, and king do today in this situation?”

Have the right opinion of yourself, the right attitude!
