In Revelation chapters 6 through 16, we find three series of “sevens” — seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven bowls.
Considering the “sevens” from a pre-millennial viewpoint, there are two viewpoints. The first is chronological (sequential), like a linear diary; the second is parallel, with the three “sevens” depicting the same sequence of events.
Personally, I like each, and since I’m not a scholar (who aren’t allowed to equivocate), I’m going to equivocate and declare that I like both, as both feature future troublesome difficulties on planet earth and proclaim the ultimate victory of Jesus.
You might prefer one view over the other, so I’m doing something I’ve never done in the one-million-word history of Interruptions this morning; I’m going to encourage all of you to not equivocate and figure out for yourselves whether you prefer a sequential or parallel view of the seals, trumpets, and bowls.
